The top 5 podcasts for digital marketers
- last updated 4 Aug 2016
This week, our resident Head of Marketing, Lisa Mahoney, tells us her top five podcasts that keep her ahead of the digital marketing curve.
In my (slightly nerdy) opinion, there’s no better way to spend my 30 minute commute than learning something new about digital marketing. Whether it’s the best way to keep Google Panda happy, how to show the business a campaign's ROI or the latest content marketing trends, I come into work feeling inspired and motivated.
So, without further ado, here’s five of my favourite digital marketing podcasts:
If you’re anything like me, you’d love to read all the hot, new marketing books - but who has the time for that? This amazing podcast serves as a bit of a hack, with Douglas Burdett interviewing best-selling marketing book authors. Together, they run through the key principles of the books in question, whilst providing practical marketing insights. This saves me so much time and money.
Oh, Amy Porterfield – what a woman. The undoubted queen of Facebook strategy and list building, Amy provides super easy-to-follow blueprints for your online marketing. I also personally find her voice very comforting and lovely to listen to (which helps).
Although this podcast is aimed at the self-employed among you, I often turn to The Fizzle Show to get clued up on a niche marketing topic I haven’t fully understood. They really dig deep into the nitty gritty of a topic, which means the episodes are quite long, but they’re always really informative and easy to listen to. The hosts are also very likeable and honest – a big hit with me.
Bitesize chunks of super valuable information – this gem is absolutely perfect for your daily commute. Daniel Rowles & Ciaran Rogers interview global experts and do a good job of keeping the episodes entertaining. I would really recommend listening to this before an important meeting to get yourself ‘in the zone’.
With optimisation being a constant gripe for many digital marketers, the Call to Action podcast is one of my absolute favourites. This podcast features inspiring success stories on how businesses have increased their lead conversion and practical tips on how you can replicate this in your own work. Massive thumbs up from me.
